Biography:
Davanna (which means "strong & determined" in the language of Alberta) is an American model, community activist and entrepreneur born in Jersey City, New Jersey. She began her career appearing as a child model for JuJu Models (Macy's/print) and years of local runway shows all before gaining prominence for her appearance on the Tyra Banks talk show (2009) as a YouTube cyber celebrity star. She was then invited back as a guest on Americas Next Top Model cycle 13 (2010) to offer some runway tips to the contestants along side Miss J. Alexander.
Davanna began to make a name for herself being noticed by celebrity insiders like the Iconic Naomi Campbell calling Davanna her "Mini Me". Propelling Davanna's career to an even higher standard appearing in High Fashion runway shows like (Mercedes Benz FW, Virgin Island FW, NYFW/Spring Studios) just to name a few.
Davanna has been featured in several magazines: Sheen Magazine, Vestal Magazine, Hype Hair Magazine, Fashion Haunts Magazine, Teen Fashion Magazine, Razors Edge Fashion Magazine, Fashion Paper Magazine.
Davanna has since made several television appearances with a walk on roll for FX show POSE as a ballroom walker. Background rolls to include: Manifest, Power, FX/Pose and HBO Max Legendary.
Besides modeling and acting, she is a community activist giving back to her community with: Davanna's Back to School Giveback (est 2012) and Pillows 4 Change, est 2016(making & donating pillows to the homeless and women's shelters). She has written a book(The Importance of Being Prepared for School) and launched her own clothing brand (Diva D'Luxe by Davanna).
Davanna has proved herself to be a great role model for young girls all around the world.
Davanna is well grounded, maintaining an A/B average as a college student, and often repeats that education is first !
Also as an activist for her tired less work in the community. In 2011 at just 11yrs old, Davanna began to realize the importance of being prepared for school and started her own back to school book bag giveaway. Over the last eight years she has held the event donating over 10,000 book bags & school supplies to date.
Davanna continues to give from the heart and make a difference thru her “Pillows 4 Change” project where she was inspired to sew pillows for the homeless after seeing them sleeping on the ground in the train stations and crying out for help. Davanna says "she just had to do something" and began making pillows and giving them out to the homeless to add a little comfort in their lives. She has since donated hundreds of pillows to children's hospitals, battered women's shelters etc.
With the rise of Covid cases in 2020, Davanna was lead to form "Mask Up Newark", where she sews mask and donates to people in her community. Davanna has donated hundreds of mask in the help to prevent the spread of the virus.
